USA Claims Curtis Cup for Third Straight Time

The American team emerged victorious in the 2021 Curtis Cup, defeating Great Britain and Ireland 12½ to 7½. Held at Nairn Golf Club in Scotland, the biennial competition featured some of the best women's amateur golfers in the world.

Team USA's Dominant Performance

The Americans set the tone early, winning the first two foursomes matches on Friday. They continued their dominance on Saturday, taking four of the six four-balls matches. On Sunday, the Americans clinched the victory with four singles wins in the morning session.

  • Jensen Castle and Emilia Migliaccio won 2.5 points each for the USA.

GB&I Shows Resilence

Despite the loss, the GB&I team showed great resilience and determination throughout the competition. They won three of the four foursomes matches on Saturday and two of the six singles matches on Sunday.

  • Annabell Fuller and Caley McGinty won both their foursomes matches.
  • Hannah Darling, the reigning British Amateur champion, won 2 points for GB&I.
  • Emily Toy and Charlotte Heath also contributed points for the home team.

The 2021 Curtis Cup will be remembered as a historic victory for the American team. Their dominant performance showcased the depth and talent of women's amateur golf in the United States. GB&I can be proud of their performance, and they will look to regain the Cup in 2023 at Merion Golf Club in Pennsylvania.
