A Legendary Career Comes to an End

Poker legend and 10-time World Series of Poker champion Doyle Brunson has died at the age of 89.

Brunson, known affectionately as "Texas Dolly" and the "Godfather of Poker," passed away peacefully on May 14, 2023, in Las Vegas, Nevada, surrounded by family.

With a career spanning over six decades, Brunson is widely considered one of the greatest poker players of all time. He won his first World Series of Poker (WSOP) bracelet in 1976 and went on to win nine more over the following decades.

In addition to his WSOP success, Brunson also won the prestigious World Poker Tour (WPT) Championship in 2005. He was inducted into the Poker Hall of Fame in 1988.

Brunson's legacy extends far beyond his tournament winnings. He was known for his aggressive playing style and his mentorship of countless young poker players.

The poker community is mourning the loss of one of its most iconic figures. Doyle Brunson will be remembered as a true legend of the game.
