Minnesota Timberwolves vs. Phoenix Suns: Suns Secure Playoff Berth with 125-106 Victory

Devin Booker Leads Phoenix to First-Round Rematch

Absence of Anthony Davis and Karl-Anthony Towns Proves Costly for Timberwolves

April 20, 2024 - The Phoenix Suns have clinched a playoff berth with a convincing 125-106 victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves at the Footprint Center. Four-time All-Star Devin Booker led the way for the Suns, scoring 27 points and matching Kevin Durant's points per game average as the team's leading scorer this season. Bradley Beal also had a strong performance for the Suns, contributing 36 points on 6-for-10 shooting from the field.

The Timberwolves, who were without star players Anthony Davis and Karl-Anthony Towns, struggled offensively throughout the game. D'Angelo Russell led the way for Minnesota with 22 points, but he was the only Timberwolf to score in double figures. The Suns took control of the game early, leading by 20 points at halftime and extending their lead to as many as 25 points in the second half.

With the victory, the Suns move into a tie for fifth place in the Western Conference standings with a record of 48-34. They will now face the Los Angeles Clippers in the first round of the playoffs, a rematch of their first-round matchup last season. The Timberwolves, meanwhile, finish the season with a record of 42-40 and will miss the playoffs for the second consecutive year.
